How I started

When I was young, I was skinny and weak. I participated in sports, only being competitive by focusing overwhelmingly on technique and strategy.

Then I discovered competitive group exercise. I applied the same focus on technique and experienced great results. It was dramatic beyond what I thought I could achieve.

The strength, capacity, and self-confidence I gained from those workouts changed my life. After a time, I was routinely and repeatedly doing things I never thought I could do even once!

Where I studied

I was so enamored with what I was experiencing that I decided to help other people achieve the same results. Help them get fit and feel healthy. So I attended college for Exercise & Sports Science with additional study in Nutrition.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Exercise Science with an additional focus on Nutrition. Additionally, I am a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.

Why I coach

Since 2007 I've been helping people change their health & fitness. I have coached individuals, groups, youth, teen, adult & older clients, athletes, and post-rehab, and helped many "normal" people regaining their health.

Over years of coaching, I have learned there is no one 'system' that works for everyone—but there is something out there for everyone. My job as a coach is (1) to know a lot about health & fitness, and (2) to know a lot about you; then help you make the right changes and make them stick.

Nothing makes me happier than knowing I was involved in someone having a better life. I use my knowledge and skill to work with people to find what works most effectively with each individual.

Personal Style

All these

  • Texture over polish. The real me, not some optimized persona.

  • One-to-one. Just me--no team. No crew, staff, or contractors on my end.

  • I’m here to help all towards their best health. Everything I say and recommend, I do or I live by.

Not these

  • No ‘sponsored posts’. No sponsorships. No promoted posts or boosted BS. No filters on pictures. No stock images. No ‘clickbait’ titles. No paragraphs of useless text.

  • No hard sales, pain points, trickery, advertising click funnels, search engine optimization, or email autoresponder sequences with ‘Artificial Intelligence’.

  • No statistics. No analytics. No user data. I’ve accepted that this site won’t rank in Google and won’t show optimally in social media. That’s fine. Content is king.

Areas of Coaching Knowledge

Gadgets & Tools

I will help you find the gadgets and tools that are actually good. Cut through the maze of marketing and promotion to avoid wasting money.

Nutrition & Supplements

Learn what will work best for you using an individualized program based on in-depth assessments.

Magazines, videos, DVDs, and seminars can't look at you to know which recommendations are most appropriate for you.

Mobility & Flexibility

Make your body feel better and work better by releasing tight muscles and strengthening weak muscles. We will work from inside to outside--joints then muscles. Set yourself up for great results in all other programs.

Mentality & Habit Change

Here's how we make things stick. Small changes that are actually sustainable.

Applying the science of habit change may be the thing that sets this program apart from all the others.

Durability

Here we will work to build a strong 'suit of armor' around your joints. Build a strong base to further develop your fitness.

Ensure that you can make the most of our training by avoiding setbacks from injury.

Basic Body Weight

Before you can move external objects well, you must first move your own body well. I will teach you the basics and help you build the strength you need to hold a proper position during fun and rewarding movements that develop the body awareness and strength

Running

Breathing, stride, foot strike, shoe choice, training protocols, and race strategy.

Whether you run for fun, competition, or only when you're being chased, I can help you improve your return on your hard work.

Resistance & Strength Training

All life is either moving 'yourself' or moving objects using your 'self.' Here we use external objects like bars, balls, kettlebells, dumbbells, and more to improve your health and fitness.
